Russian bombs raze all buildings in Chasiv Yar to the ground — Tymochko

Russian bombs are systematically demolishing all accessible buildings in Chasiv Yar.

Ivan Tymochko, a serviceman and chairman of the Council of Reservists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported this on Hromadske Radio:

«The fighting continues as before. The enemy is maximizing its efforts in this area, primarily by demolishing buildings within the city using bombs. Whether they are aiming for a deadline of May 9th or can adjust it is inconsequential, as Putin typically prefers to present grand successes to the Russian people on holidays. We remember how dismal and shameful their May 9th celebration looked last year».

Tymochko noted that after Avdiivka, capturing Chasiv Yar holds tactical significance for Putin, yet it’s also politically crucial for Russians to perceive their losses as justified.

«The Russian strategy and tactics dictate leveraging any advantage to its fullest extent. They recognize their superiority in aviation and observe that our allies are engaged in discussions about sympathizing with Ukraine but lack the necessary support in terms of air defense and missile systems. The enemy is exploiting this window of opportunity to the maximum. We’re aware of the alarming frequency with which they’ve employed anti-aircraft guns in recent months, and they will persist until we can intercept their aircraft in large numbers during approach or neutralize them at their bases», –  he stated.

He emphasized the gravity of the situation, acknowledging Russia’s tactic of scorched-earth warfare in certain regions. However, any progress made is minimal and does not match the losses incurred.

As a reminder, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi revealed that Russia’s military leadership had tasked its troops with capturing Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region by May 9th.
