The occupiers have come close to the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Region. Residents of the city and the surrounding community are being urged to evacuate due to the approach of Russian troops.

Volodymyr Zamotayev, the head of the Pokrovsk district state administration and the head of the district military administration, discussed the security situation in the city on Hromadske Radio.

«The security situation in the Pokrovsk district remains very difficult. Active hostilities continue, accompanied by constant shelling of the communities.»

The head of the district state administration notes that the front line is dynamic and moving towards the Pokrovsk district.

«The occupiers are 10.5 kilometers from the city of Pokrovsk.»

Pokrovsk is large by the standards of Donetsk Region. Therefore, the head describes the situation as «threatening.» Volodymyr Zamotayev does not have exact data on the occupiers’ forces concentrated in the Pokrovsk direction and near the city outskirts.

Local residents are urged to evacuate to safer areas. The head of the district state administration notes that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, there have been 2,039 wounded civilians and 681 deaths. Among the deceased, 17 children were killed, and 102 others were wounded.

Due to the dangerous situation, a decision has been made to compulsorily evacuate children and their parents (or guardians) from the area. Zamotayev says this decision primarily affects the Kurakhivska, Novohrodivska, and some settlements of the Selydivska communities, as well as the city of Myrnohrad.

«During the forced evacuation period (two weeks), 2,684 children have been evacuated. Since August 7, about 15,000 people have been evacuated from these communities, including 2,747 children.»

The head of the district state administration reports that as of August 15, 1,672 children still remain in the Pokrovsk district, with the largest number in the Kurakhivka community—418 children.

Evacuated residents are being taken to safe locations and then transported by train to the city of Dnipro. Every seven days, evacuations are organized by train to the Rivne region. Starting next month, evacuations will be carried out by train to Volyn Oblast. Residents are being accommodated by the administrations and provided with housing.

«The evacuation is ongoing and in an active phase.«

We would also like to remind you of the round-the-clock evacuation hotline number: 0800500121. You can call this number to find out everything you need to know about the evacuation.

Frequency in Pokrovsk

As a reminder, Hromadske Radio has received a temporary permit to broadcast at 99.6 FM in Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast. This decision was made by the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting at its meeting on August 8.

Please note that broadcasting has not yet started. Technical work is underway to enable residents of Pokrovsk to listen to Hromadske Radio.
