At least one crew from the NGO «Rose on the Hand» evacuates people from Kupyansk almost every day. The occupiers are approaching the Oskil River, and many people may remain trapped in the blocked triangle.

Oleksandr Humanyuk, head of «Rose on the Hand» and a member of the evacuation team, spoke to Hromadske Radio about the situation.

«We’re in a bit of a pickle there too. The orcs are nearing the Oskil River.»

Humanyuk emphasized that many people could be trapped in a triangle with no escape except by the river. For this reason, «Rose on the Hand» is working very actively in this area.

Additionally, once the vehicles are repaired, «Rose on the Hand» will resume evacuations from Kurakhove and the surrounding areas.

Humanyuk added that evacuation requests are currently very active in the Kupyansk district. There are also appeals from relatives of people in Ukrainsk, as well as requests for evacuations from Selydove.

To request an evacuation with «Rose on the Hand,» you can call the hotline: +38 098 388 86 49 or contact the organization via its social media page.

«I recommend everyone take all their important documents and something small as a keepsake, like a photo. You should also pack clothes for this and the next season, bringing only the most essential items. We can only fit 2-3 bags per person in the car.»

As a reminder, on the evening of 24 September, the DeepState project reported that the Russian army had occupied Ukrainsk in Donetsk Region. Around 400 people managed to escape from Ukrainsk, while a similar number remained in the city.

Oleksandr Humanyuk, head of «Rose on the Hand» and a member of the evacuation team, discussed the evacuation on Hromadske Radio.

«I had hoped the city wouldn’t fall under occupation so quickly. However, we already had experience evacuating from occupied areas in this direction, like Mikhailovka and Novogorodovka. We saw these places being taken, and we encountered Russians there as well.»

According to Humanyuk’s estimates, about 400 people successfully evacuated from Ukrainsk, while around the same number remained. Some refused to leave and sought shelter in basements, he added.
