russia transfers part of it’s forces from occupied territories in Georgia to the Ukrainian border
Russia is shifting some of its forces in Ukraine from the occupied territories of Georgia, and from unrecognized republics of Abkhazia and Ossetia, to the Ukrainian border to strengthen its offensive potential, reported Suspilne Radio, referencing CNN.
«At the present stage, we have signs that they are bringing in forces from Georgia to Ukraine,» the Pentagon spokesman said.
He stressed that the United States does not conduct air reconnaissance for the movement of Russian forces and thus far has refused to say in which area these forces could cross the border into Ukraine. At the same time the Russians are trying to support increased activity, mainly in the Donbas, said the spokesman.
