Preliminary estimate of the total damage to the Ukrainian economy is $600 billion — KSE Institute
A preliminary estimate of the total damage to the Ukrainian economy is between $564 – 600 billion. The estimate was provided by KSE Institute Think Tank which is conducting a study on economic losses as a part of the Russia Will Pay Project.
This was reported by the JRS at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
“Documented damage to Ukraine’s infrastructure as of April 11 has reached $80.4 billion or 2.4 trillion hryvnias,» the statement said.
Damaged, destroyed or seized:
- 23 thousand km of roads and 277 bridges and overpasses
- 37 thousand square meters of housing and 54 office buildings
- 319 kindergartens, 586 educational institutions and 205 medical institutions
- 145 factories and plants, seven thermal and hydroelectric power plants and 11 shopping and entertainment centers
- 10 military airfields, eight airports and two sea ports
- 74 religious buildings and 62 other cultural buildings
The biggest losses were in the metallurgy and machine building industries as well as coke and oil refineries.
More than 100 cases of ecocides have already been recorded as military operations were carried out on more than 800 areas that are part of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine.
